Hi!

I'm thinking of moving to Crooks, what do I need to know?
The Street is Slinn Street!

Any tips in general, shops, pubs, cool places?

/Cheers

crookes is great! i lived there for 4 years as a student. you have almost everything you need on your doorstep or down the hill in broomhill.
is a good atmosphere, very friendly, lots of students, but plenty of locals too.
and you cant beat the Noahs Ark for the best (and cheapest) home cooked grub anywhere! two mains with side orders for a fiver- what more do you want?

Yes, a good tip for you - it's spelt "Crookes".

Tip 2: Crookes has been mentioned in several other threads, so searching for it may give you some good information.

I love Crookes - a smashing place. Granted, I have only driven through it - well my relative has, but it looks nice.

Crookes rules.

There are people who dislike the area but they're all crusties who need to shut up with their constant student bashing.

Slinn Street runs along the top of my road.

Shop wise you have a short walk up to the Crookes shops (Usual stuff, Co-Op, Bakery, Cash Machines, Take Aways, Chippies, 2 or 3 good pubs, Video/DVD Rental)

Bottom end of Slinn Street is a walk down the hill to Commonside. There you have the Springvale Tavern, 4 take aways, general shop, another Co-Op, sandwich shop, the Dram Shop (quality beer venders ;) )

Highly recommended (Slinn Street is probably the flattest part of the area :hihi: (Its all hills!)
