Best for what? for getting drunk beer is the best, because you are in less danger of dehydration.

Spirits are variable because of the varying amounts of congeners in them, with pure grain vodka having the least, and smoky old scotch having the most.

My favourites are a nice pint or two of Pale Rider or Czech Budweiser, a glass of Burgundy or Riesling, and a snifter of Calvados.

Of course that's not including Stumpy's cider....

Have to say, my favourite is currently Vodka - topped up with RedBull. several of them (hic!).
No horrid hangovers!

Beer then Liquor, never sicker
Beer and Wine, always fine.
Or:
Wine and Beer, never fear.

I dont always believe that. I say don't mix your drinks, stick to one or the other. Drink spirits after beer and expect a massive hangover.

My favorite has to be the old Stella Artois, good times gaurenteed after a few of these babies, but the hangover really aint to good.next up at the mo are these cherry cola cocktails they sell in the Revolution, very drinkable, and very potent.Plus i also like the odd bottle of red wine, shiraz mainly, but anything will do as long as its over 13%!!

Have never managed to get a taste for Red Bull. I can smell it a mile off and it turns my stomach, esp if late at night!!!!

Stella is bad news. Thought my workmates were having a laugh when they called it "wife beaters", but have had a couple or three bad experiences and never again!

It's got to be Bolly all the way Daaahhhling! Or Champagne cocktails. (But only if you're paying!)

It's got to be Cava, the thinking person's champagne.

4 pints of Guinness followed by 3 or 4 glasses of nice cold red wine (Pinot Noir or Merlot)

.....and before anyone says 'owt, yes, I like my red wine chilled! A famous wine expert once said "Its how YOU like it that matters, and the room temperature stuff is a load of old toss!"

....The above combination also makes for a fantastic hangover......ENJOY!! ;)

My fave beer is
San Miguel followed closely by Grolsch

Gone off Bitters recently, but used to like Stones.

Wine - My favourite reasonably priced wine is Penfolds Shiraz Cabernet.

Spirits - Vodka

and finally I have a growing liking to a nice glass of Port.

Its an age thing - it goes with the pipe and slippers!!

since when has port been a category? shouldn't it be filed under fortified wines?

i'm into red wine, a nice chianti or south east australian (not that they are on offer at the mo or anything,) because then when you get home you can fall asleep easily, thus bypassing the need to come on here at 3am or answering the phone to annoying ex boyf.

Ahhhh, this is my category. I'll avoid the desire to start advertising that I stock all these products at very good competetive prices.....OK, I'll shut up.

I'm a Malibu and coke girl. Can drink loads of the stuff cos it's low ABV (21%) so I'm not falling over at the end of the night but it still has a kick. If I NEED to get drunk then I hit the vodka and coke or Bacardi and coke.

I just simply love a nice glass (or three) of red wine. It is perhaps the best thing ever invented ever. (Even better than chips).

Got to say though that it is very calorific (especially if you have it with four ham sandwiches and a cheese board).

Seems that each time I have a bottle I wake up the next day a pound or two heavier.

A glass or two of a really good white port- yum! White port's like sherry with attitude- dry, peppery, aperitif and about 19% ABV so I can only drink one or two without things going decidedly blurry!

I *heart* baileys... I also like a good glass of Rioja but I'm a beer girl at heart... a nice bottle of corona with a wedge of lime...

FYI Becks is the least fattening beer - has the least amount of weight watchers points anyway...

I think it all depends.
If i'm going out then I'll generally drink lager (premium, but not stella), maybe followed by a single malt or two towards the end of the evening.
Staying in with friends, then i'll probably drink red wine (Rjioca preferably).
I quite like a vintage port, either after a meal, or whilst I play on the computer.
Champagne is good for celebrating and doesn't seem to leave me with a bad hangover.

I have recently developed an unhealthy taste for gin and tonic. Its far too easy to drink, as i demonstrated last Saturday night!

Got to be a glass of australian chardonnay (or a bottle would be even better) :D

I'll do the same and certainly won't draw attention to the link in my sig

I usually drink lager or shandy at the pub and wine with meals. Favourites are Pinot Noir for red and New Zealand Riesling or Sauv Blanc for white.

Spirits i like a good rum (Havana Club 7 Year), bourbon (Makers Mark) or gin (Tanquarey).

I don't really drink vodka because i like to taste the alcoholic drink itself, not just an alcoholic version of the mixer.

Hmmm... might just have a small drop of wine now.

Lager, lager and more lager.

I always follow the grain & grape rule, so If I do fancy something from the top shelf it's a good Tenessee whiskey washed down with a splash of diet coke.

I like a good port as well :) Very nice in the winter.

I'm mainly of the sort who prefers real ale though.

Cocktails are always yummy and good selections.

Spirits and mixers are nice. Def recommend archers and coke. Just try it!

I like wine too but if it's red, I usually go for a merlot or cab sav and white has to be medium.

Don't tend to drink beer. I used to when I was younger but rarely now.

Ever tried Hair of the Dingo wine? You can get it from Spar by City Hall. Got one of my friends addicted to that!
