try CCC John Street Sheffield (near the mighty Blades)

CCC is probably the obvious choice.

Tents are always a good price there.

But don't ignore FAS / Millets and Blacks. They sometimes also have some good deals on.

The OUTSIDE shop at Hathersage makes a nice change. Mainly geared towards climbing, but there's tents too.

Also keep an eye on the For Sale boards at Outside in Hathersage, The Edge climbing wall by CCC and the Foundry climbing wall on Mowbray Street. Now's the time people buy a new tent in the sales and shift on their old one. Having said that, CCC are brilliant on tents, and usually have a totally ace deal on what you want. The sales guys really know their stuff too.

CCC is the place for tents etc.

But another excellent outdoorshop for all things walking in the country is Foothills, on Edgedale Road.

The staff are excellent and they even arrange well-planned midweek walks.

I can recommend them totally.

went to ccc today - 70% sale on - bought a card (3 quid) ans saved 30 quid on a pair of boots - seemed good economics to me, plus the card is valid for a year so many more purchases I think - only problem as I'm just starting kitting out for camping - you could really spend so much :)
