I've seen bits of it; Simon Cowell is always harping on about how good they are. I have not yet heard them sing anything which shows they have good voices, it just seems like an excuse for them to wear skimpy clothes, and I think that is the real reason Simon likes them.

Isn't it wierd how people's views differ when it comes to music? I think Hope have actually been fairly good so far (apart from the disaster that was Hanky Panky). And as for Same Difference - in my opinion they are right alongside Rhiddian in terms of how good their vocals are. They are always spot on in tune and their harmonies are excellent. Yes, they may be kitch and some people may not like them, but you cannot fault them musically (in my opinion of course!).

I can't believe that Louis Walsh actually said they wouldn't win it as they are "too happy". What a very sad reflection on society that is?

It all went downhill, as usual, after the dorks were voted out. It's not worth watching after that.

Why do girl bands have to prance around wearing next to nothing. Let's see Hope smartly dressed in suits, sat still and really showing off their vocal abilities (if they have any!). I'm sure this way they'd get a lot more female supporters as Louis pointed out they need to get girls on their side.

Nikki to win though.

Aside from Girls Aloud, I'd have to say that these were the worst girl band ever:

Oh hang on, what about Daphne and Celeste?

I quite agree, even though the dorks are hand picked, it's good to see that there are some people worse than me. As for the girl band, you have to consider that Simon Cowell decides who goes through and who goes out. The public are only there to provide the income. So whether they're crap or not is irrelevant until the final. Mr Cowell decides who will make the most interesting programme, just the same as he has this pretend running verbal battle with Walsh and Mrs Ozzy. It's all good telly, in his opinion.

There just like the rest of the reality tv rubbish, even if they win no one will remember who they are in 5 years. Like that David Sneddon or whatever he was called. In my opinion the only good artists to have come out of such programmes are Lemar, Kelly Clarkson and Will Young. I say they are good though this doesn't mean I like them these are just the ones that in my opinion have a fair amount of talent.
In a country such of ours it can't be expected that X Factor can do a series every year and find an amazing undiscovered talent they would have come forward before. This should be the last year, for at least 5 years or just don't bring it back at all.

I think I block out the voices just because of how horrendous they are to watch.

They remind me of that episode of Extras where Maggie gets dragged to this 30 year old girl's birthday party who starts doing this inappropriate, creepy dance routine with her Dad.

Im forced to watch it most weeks and i don't think anybody stands out at all, i think there all pretty crap. As for Same Difference, they do look like to Steps rejects. I suppose it s down to the market your targeting, the under 10's probably love them.

I don't think the standard is as good this year, although I do like Beverley. I can't for the life of me understand how Same Difference are still in, they make my skin crawl, although I have to grudgingly admit they can sing & they are always very well rehearsed. Rhydian is unusual, I hated him to begin with, but am warming to him now.
Not that I watch X Factor you understand.

Yes, Hope are one of the lamest girl groups I have ever seen. They're all weird / ugly (which is how 99% of girl-groups sell records) - there's a huge great beefy one who looks like a bloke in drag and s/he stands in the middle of the others like a heffer at a children’s party. There's one who looks like she's been designed by a child on a computer.
absolutely none of them can sing very well (certainly nothing you couldn't hear in a karaoke bar every Saturday night).

They're dreadful. The best bit is that they're SO annoying, everyone actually ENJOYS disliking them!

If X-Factor is the best the UK has to offer these days... pop music has officially died!

Not wanting to distract from the OP, but if the Spice Girls had been on X Factor, we'd probably never have heard of em. Only 2 out of the 5 can sing, or harmonise, and on their UK tour they just sang along to their own records. Their recent TV appearance consisted of 2 songs and they mimed to both of them. Con artists I M H O.

Joking apart, what a complete bunch of mingers they are. If you saw any of them stood by the dancefloor 'late on' in a club, then any self-respecting bloke would have to reconsider the adage:- "Quarter to two, owt will do."

Forgive my cynicism, and not seen it, but aren't Hope, Simon Cowell's band ? And you think that it actually went to a viewers' vote count. And doesn't he also mentor that cheesey bro/sister act. If they weren't his he would have slated them uphill and down dale and they would be long gone.
S.C. decides who goes and who stays, despite what you may see on the telly.

Maybe it is the younger voters that are keeping them on.I also think the 14 year old "lead" singer should reapply when she is about 20 when her voice has developed a bit more.
