View Full Version : Best florist in Sheffield?
karamasov 27-01-2005, 12:32 Hi there - could anyone recommend the best florist in the Sheffield area?
I realise there has been a previous thread on florists, but it centred around cheap florists for a wedding. I'm looking for recommendations on the most imaginative / stylish/ classy flower shop in the area, regardless of price.
Thanks a lot!
There is a good one on Division Street, and another one on a corner on Ecclesall Road, don't know what theya re called though, sorry.

Pavilion in Broomhill at the top of Glossop Road is fantastic. Always get my flowers from there.
hi,my hubby got me some really unusual ones from sarah's florist on middlewood rd hillsborough (near kentucky) they look very contempary.
Plantology on Division Street is the best florist I've come across. Just point out what you like from the wide range of exotic flowers and plants and they'll put together amazing contemporary displays while you wait.

I think the one on Ecclesall Road you mean is The Garden Centre? It's really lovely...they don't just do flowers but loads of plants and stuff.
jamestcs 08-10-2006, 07:24 There are many software to create an online florist i.e. : cubecart, oscommerce etc...
yorkie001 08-10-2006, 08:17 Orchis on Abbeydale road is good, really good quality flowers and excellent presentation. They look loads more expensive than they are!!

thank you muchly, do i know you at all !!
When I receive flowers they come from Bouquet's Florist at Crookes and they are always beautiful and carefully chosen to be the flowers and shades requested. I would highly recommend them for the content, can't comment on the cost, but according to my OH the service appears to be very good.

Betty Simonites Castle market! or Flowers in the window near the winter gardens
Flowers in the window near the winter gardens
They are realy expensive (probably because they have huge rates to pay)
Another thumbs up for Orchis - I often buy flowers for my wife from there!!
The only comment I would make on the previous negative post is that possibly it's a case of quality over quantity...
Flourish 27-06-2007, 13:30 I agree with Jono,
Hollyhocks is a very traditional Florists which struggles with new modern designs but great for granny bunches.
Orchis seems to accater for either modern or traditional and quality always beets quantity any day.
lil_proc 27-06-2007, 13:33 The Garden Center On Ecclesall Road Near The Design Studio Or There Is One Up Near Dominos Pizza Which Is A Really Fancy One..

I got my mum some flowers from there a while back, she absolutley loved them. They were very stylish, MASSIVE, beautifully put together and seemed to last for ages. It was a week after she received them before I got chance to go and look and they really were stunning, and looked like she had only just got them. :huh:A month later and there were still some living. :D I would definitely go back again.
Upstairs, Next to boots in Meadowhall, brilliant price for our wedding flowers and really helpful.
Its called The Little Flower Shop on Abbeydale Road
Used them a few times
Excellent!

She did our wedding too and did a very good job both leading up to and on the day. Highly recommended.
anabella 28-06-2007, 16:23 Orchis on Abbeydale road is good, really good quality flowers and excellent presentation. They look loads more expensive than they are!!
Couldn't agree more. This is my now favourite florist, beautiful, ornate and quality flowers. I buy a lot of flowers and have been to several florists, this has been the best.
The thing I like most is the excellent quality, the flowers last 2-3 weeks, and the original contemporary style. Although I know they also do traditional bunches.
pippadoll 28-06-2007, 21:40 Pavilion in Broomhill at the top of Glossop Road is fantastic. Always get my flowers from there.
I agree with this. They are super.

katie_dust 29-06-2007, 15:03 Orchis is fantastic, I can't imagine that they get complaints! Not so many good florists, but would recommend these, the designs are lovely. For cheap and cheerful I always get Tesco's or Aldi, but for a special occasion I would go to Orchis.
I get mine (for the missus) from a place on Middlewood Road - Opposite Hillsborough Park.

I'd like to post a recommendation for Orchis Floral Design on Abbeydale Road.I don't know much about flowers and I think some florists can be a little intimidating but Orchis were the exact opposite.
I wanted a something stylish but a bit different and the lady in there made me a superb bouquet on the spot! My girlfriend was very pleased.
Very satisfied customer, no hesitation in recommending them to everyone.
brianthedog 25-01-2008, 11:12 Alright then, time to bump this one up. Quick vote for wedding flowers; orchis or brookhouse?!

the bard 25-01-2008, 16:30 we use orchis. fantastic and friendly service and quality flowers and bouquets that last a long time. highly recommended for something a little different with a lot of thought and care going into the arrangements. its on abbeydale road next to oddbins so its always nice to pop in there and choose some wine whilst your flowers are being made up.
scattyhatty 28-01-2008, 11:50 I think the staff at Orchis on Abbeydale Rd are great - they always really listen to you and design a bunch of flowers around what you say. I have bought different styles of bouquet there from v traditional to extremely contemporary. They really know how to make those who are uninitiated into the world of floristry comfortable.I always recommend that my male friends get down to Orchis if they want to impress a lady!
neeeeeeeeeek 28-01-2008, 12:17 Plantology in Division Street.

the bard 30-01-2008, 21:03 i just think its really good that people actually use individual florists as opposed to unthinkingly buying straight from the supermarkets - at the end of the day if you're buying from an independent you are dealing with a craftsperson who knows their business, who is going to take care and pride themselves on their work. support your independents and keep sheffield interesting.

tell that to my OH..........if I ever get flowers its a limp effort from tesco.........:(
lowdham lad 30-01-2008, 21:12 how wrong you all are!!!!!!!!
EDEN DESIGNER FLORISTS at meadowhead is the dogs n..s!!!
not only is the owner a lovely person but i have never ever bought such fantastic flowers and floral designs anywhere else in SY.
She did my sisters wedding and not only was she cheaper than certain town or ecclesall rd florists but she worked really hard all day and the creations were fantastic and lasted ages.
hope this helps!
brianthedog 31-01-2008, 06:55 tell that to my OH..........if I ever get flowers its a limp effort from tesco.........:(
I know I'm going to get shot down here, but..... Tescos on Abbeydale Road actually has some very nice lillies and gladioli (when in season). I still agree with the earlier poster that the local florists are far better, but I've frequently bought our flowers from Tesco (when skint or in a hurry, usually) and have never been disappointed.
brianthedog 31-01-2008, 06:56 My word, this is like therapy! "My name is Brian, and I shop at Tescos..."
"Hi Brian!"

Monica F Hewitts at hillsborough, did my wedding flowers, all lovely, great people too,
Lisa.

funfamily 02-02-2008, 19:37 Katie Pecketts on Ecclesall Rd - they also have a fancy one next to Domino's Abbeydale South - not cheap but amazing flowers.
Flower Bowl at Hillsborough are good quality but quite standard in design.
orchis on abbeydale road. first class! not cheap but brilliant and they deliver
EldonEng 16-02-2008, 12:19 Dont use Daisy Chain on Birley Moor Road, they claim to provide a excellent wedding service and make it as easy as possible, but i couldnt even get them to call me back. I left 5 messages for the Wedding florist to call me regarding a wedding in March 2008, and no one ever called back, she was never there, I eventually got to speak to her on a weekend, and asked if she was availiable to do my wedding flowers, it took the woman 4 attempts to spell my name and then she tried to book me in for may???? Then after i had told her it was March she became relly rude and then said that she was probably booked up? If she was booked up then why did no one call me back to tell me that?
heevdbas 08-09-2008, 09:06 Sarah's Florist, by far the best! .co.uk
floralfoote 08-09-2008, 14:20 Pavilion in Broomhill at the top of Glossop Road is fantastic. Always get my flowers from there.
Hi Agree, Pavilion are the best, I did used t work for them so slightly biased, my spelling not good though! Look at quality and variety rather than buckets full of chrysanths and carnations. thats my tip lol
Blooms on Abbey Lane is excellent so obliging and knowledgable a really nice lady would recommend her any time cannot speak highly enough of the service
I agree, Blooms is wonderful. I've had several arrangements from there. Always gorgeous. Had a few contemporary and also some traditional arrangements, dependant on who I've ordered for but always amazing flowers that last for ages. The shop has some lovely gift ideas also if you are stuck for what to get for a pressie. The lady that works in there is always really helpful with the meanings of the flowers and that kind of stuff. I wouldn't go anywhere else now.
Paula Bailey from The Little Flower shop on Abbeydale rd did my wedding flowers and was brilliant gave me loads of her time and produced stunning arrangements. She was fab.
I would have to give a big thumbs down to katie peckett who i found to be just down right rude.
Sarah's florist middlewood road or broomhill. lovely people, great prices, lots of lovely ideas. not pushy. i would'nt go anywhere else. ecclesall road trained too. other shops charge over the top for same thing
e barker 08-09-2008, 20:43 Well, I'd be gratefull for a £2.99 bunch from Morrisons :(
