firstly , thank you to all the people that have helped me get this far this week , with what cds etc to buy , it was most helpful

ok , so i bought my cd's and dvd (philips dvd+rw ) and philips cd-r....... so thought i was going to go for a good make to start with
and to cut a long story short ,

i have copied 1 cd from an original to a disc
i have copied 1 dvd , form a site to a dvd
and i made a pic diary which i was very impressed with , and burnt that also to cd ...........

they all play back pefectly on my pc , but , the dvd wont play in the dvd player , and the cd won't play anywhere but my pc either :rolleyes:
all burnt through media player , its a new pc , running on vista


any ideas ??

rewritable cd or dvd will only work on computer you have to use either +r or -r to work on dvd

I can burn a rewriteable dvd+rw and play it on our DVD player through the tv using xp same with CDRW's it depends on the player

you could try lowering the writing speed when the dvd/cd is created, don't know how you'd do this on vista though

you need to know which disc formats your dvd and cd players will accept,
also the file type needs to be accepted as well eg mp3, avi,
