last night at about 6.30 one of our plot holders (on Corker Bottoms, Manor) went to check his allotment, as he got out of his car a youth launched a firework at him, he shouted at the youth and before he could do anything else he was confronted by a gang of youths who all launched fireworks at his car. The result was that his car caught on fire, he had by this time got the security fence between him and the youths and phoned the police and the fire brigade. Thankfully he was unhurt however his car is totally gutted. Please be extra careful if you are visiting your allotment in the evening especially if the access to your site is not well lit or not overlooked.

I despair. Thank goodness the man concerned was OK, apart from having his car trashed. Such a shame these youths don't divert their time and money into growing veg instead!

Hope he is ok, I am thinking of getting an allotment there, if I do I'll try and get the youths to help out on it, hopefully reduce problems and make the work easier.
