Now, many, many years ago, I remember going with my Uncle from End Cliffe Hall Avenue - that's where they used to live, to Barnsley.

Now does anyone remember which VERY steep hill he would have driven down and up, as I was trying to remember it.

Anyone know where this hill is?

If this was before the motorway , the road you are perhaps thinking of is the one that runs from Birdwell down into Worsborough and then climbs up steeply and afterwards flattens out and goes into Barnsley centre.
If it was after the motorway was built you probably came across a hill in Sheffield and the only one that even vaguely resembles "your" hills is the climb up to Crookes and then the sharp drop down Walkley lane.
