Hello everybody!
I recently contacted a reputable commercial property agent who works for a reputable estate agent in Sheffield regarding a property which is available to let.
I introduced myself (asian name) and was swiftly told the property had been let...a couple of days later i have called the same agent and given my name as 'Tom' and the same agent has asked me when i would like to view the property...
This doesn't quite seem right to me and was just wondering if there may be someone out there who may be able to give me some advice???
Phone back up as Tom, tell them you're interested then go there - tell them Tom couldn't make it so you came instead.
Get his name and ask him why he would let your mate Tom and not you rent the property. Ask to see the manager! if they wont let you, get his name & write a letter to their head office and then tell them you are going to contact the Star. Then go and contact the 'Star' newspaper . . Show their racist asses to the world mate - dont just sit there!
Good idea mate!
Thanx... will keep u posted on what develops!

Wajid - just wondering why you left it 2 days and then rang back again with a different name in the first place? Were you hoping to catch them out? Incidentally if you want to accuse them of being 'byast/racist' you might want to spell it as 'biased'.

i do hope you have reported it to the police, even if its just on the 202020 line. Police shouldbe informed of everything racist. even if its an incident and not a crime - good luck

Just a thought, but maybe a prospective lessee pulled out in the two days in between. It happens you know...

Just an idea but why not ask to make an appointment to view certain properties without introducing yourself, i know it's polite to introduce yourself but it's not always necessary. They'll then ask you when is convenient and by then you'll know the property is still available and then you can give them your name and if they change their minds about it being available then kick off, simple!!
