Im off to new york in a few weeks and was going to pick up my cousin a nintendo DS and take advantage of the exchage rate- my question is- would the games over here work when you plug them in??
I know some makers use different software for different continents but i wasn't sure what nintendo did :)
Nintendo DS consoles and games are region free, so even if you bought a game from as far away as Japan, it'd still work on an English console (it'd be near un-playable though unless you could read Japanese text).

You can change the language of the console, but if the game was written in Japanese theres not a lot you can do about it.

The games will work just fine.
however, if you plan on doing any link games, there might be some incompatibility.

we bought 1 last year from usa all the games are ok .. the only problem is the fact that you get a US charger so when you return you will need to purchase a UK charger for it.. other than that exactly the same. :)
