Hello!

Does anyone know anything about this stone thing on Big Moor nr Totley Moor?

There seems to be an inscription on 2 of the sides but its difficult to make out. Something about I R 1618 and M B.

I've got some pics of it if would jog anyones memory.

Anthony.

It's here on the map!

Interestingly, I've found information on lots of medieval wayside crosses and Bronze age ring cairns and medieval lead smelting sites in and around the vicinity of Totley Moors.

I'm going to go and see if I can find them all.

I knew about Carl Wark (the big Bronze Age fort) but didn't know we had such a rich medieval and bronze age history even closer!
