Hi,

I have a very good friend who started work at Ant Marketing. She had to wait almost 5 1/2 week for her first months money and it was short of almost £100.00. When queried she was told she couldn't have clocked in properly, so there was no evidence she had worked the hours. She never got her money. She was very careful with clocking in and this month is over £70.00short. She is looking for another job but is too scared to kick up a fuss in case she looses her job which she needs to pay her rent. Can this be right and does she have to wait until she leaves to get any redress. Surely there must be a manager responsible for checking peoples hours. She also knows of someone else who works beside her who has had a similar position. Has anyone else worked for Ant and had a similar experience. It seems really unfair when people work hard and put in the hours to suffer like this.

If you do a search I think you'll find one or more discussions about Ant. (Most of them pretty negative as far as I recall.)

This is awful and she shouldn't have to put up with this any longer.
However hard it may be, she needs to kick up a fuss about this - she wants to ask IN WRITING where her money is - keeping a record of any correspondence. Also get her to keep a diary of what is said & when. And when she gets out she wants totake the conning b*stards to a tribunal.

Just for the record, I worked for ANT a few months back and I have had no problems with my pay. There was one time, when I was paid short, but that was because I forgot to swipe in properly. I got my money back though. The manager has a record of everyones hours, so if she asks them it will get sorted. If she doesn't mention it, she obviously won't get paid, as I don't think their payroll department have the gift of mind-reading ;)
It could've been that your friend didn't work out their bonus correctly - just a thought - but it would help to ask.

Before I started there, i was very unsure about working there because of this mega-thread that was on this forum. The thread is years old and the old managers that were reportedly "up their own 4rses" (quoted in the thread), have apparently left to join Voice Group. So the old were replaced by the new.

I have made a lot of friends at ANT and I will definately be going back to work for them when my Uni course finishes.

Thank you for your replies. My friend is being so careful to clock in properly. She is also keeping a daily record of her hours and asking her supervisor to initial them every day, which is difficult for her because he gets irritated with her. They are now saying they will send a note to payroll to check her hours. What I don't understand is how they can get away with it. Anyway I was glad to hear that Timelord had no problems there as I am seriously concerned. She has made good friends there, but that doesn't pay her rent and food, that is the problem. When she gets another job she is going to seek official help, but doesn't want to take the risk until then. Thanks again everyone.
