View Full Version : Man Utd vs Chelsea WED 26/1/2005
So come on then people..
Whats the score gonna be?
Im taking a MU win either 1-0 or 2-1 with the goals scored in the 2nd half (1-0 Scholes or 2-1 Scholes/Ronaldo with Drogba the scorers)
I can see Keano keeping Makelele quiet allowing giggs/ronaldo to have a good run down the wings to rip chelsea open.
Hopefully fergie will play these if all are fit:
R Carroll
G Neville
M Silvestre
R Ferdinand
G Heinze
R Giggs
P Scholes
R Keane
C Ronaldo
A Smith
W Rooney
Robbie Loving 25-01-2005, 22:22 2-0 chelsea
robben and duff
I'll go for a minute prediction for my scores as well.
1-0 MU win - 62nd minute - Paul Scholes
or 2-1 MU win - 58th Min Scholes - Drogba 72nd min - Ronaldo 83rd min.
beansfeast 26-01-2005, 08:15 2-1 to Man U.
Looking at previous predictions I'm suprised most are going for the MU win! :o
Still, you know that's what's really going to happen...
I'm not bothered- as long as Man Utd don't win
A draw will do for me :P
I can't call this one, so I won't! United's form has been much better lately but Chelsea are still looking good. I think it really depends who Fergie plays, I'm hoping he puts a decent side out. Although we've got the FA Cup on Saturday against Middlesbrough and the small matter of the League game against Arsenal next Tuesday, so who knows who Fergie's gonna play! But whoever he picks I think all the United players will have to play well for United to win. (I've never been the most optimistic of football fans!). I've got a horrible feeling that the away goals rule will end up helping Chelsea...

I think Lou meant better overall- not better than Chelsea....
Chelsea had better win 'cos i've had a tenner on them to win all 4 cups!
bobsyouruncle 26-01-2005, 18:47 15 mins to kick off.
2-0 man utd, keano will get his 50th.
scholes or smithy, but then again if its 0-0, extra time, chelsea may just knick it but i think the away goal rule is pants!!
bobsyouruncle 26-01-2005, 18:53 well then, smithy not even on the bench. shame.
bobsyouruncle 26-01-2005, 19:50 dont understand y howard the ducks in goal, only maybe to save caroll for middlesborough and arsenal. bad move IMHO.
Penalty..................? debatable, maybe if it was arsenal playing chelsea...... :suspect:
Well...
To say we should have had a penalty and Makelele should have been sent off for his lash out at Ronaldo right in front of the ref- I didnt think it was a bad match overall.
I still dont think chelsea are really anything special as we proved in the first 25 mins of the game and also the first 15 of the second half.. but still all credit to them.
Mourinho manages to win yet again with a **** shot that Tim Howard should have saved.
Ah well.. still got the treble to go for.
lol you Man Utd fans don't give up do you.
They out classed you- so what you had possession?
You actually have to do something with that possession!
Penalty- naaaa
What I don't understand is why fergie signs a player for 25 million pounds (Rooney) and leaves him on the bench for an hour in a semi final against one of his biggest rivals.
Or do I just not understand football :P?
I could not belive it when I saw the squad.
Howard in the net and rooney on the bench.
**** on me.
Your playing chelsea for ****s sake- in a cup semi final.
You want to put out your best team available.
I despair sometimes I really do.
bobsyouruncle 26-01-2005, 21:30 totally agree, rooney- ha!!! maybe if caroll was in goal would he have come for the free kick and "tried" to punch it away, rather than stand on his line. i know i;m not a proffessional g/k or any other g/k for that matter, but even i would have at least tried to come for it.
ah well, we lost, i admit (as a man u fan) .good luck to chelski tho.

hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
I thought ManU were so good they could win whoever went out, after all they are all such amazing players and so much of a better squad than anyone else in the Premiership.
Its arrogant ManU fans that make it soooo much better when they lose.
Well to say chelsea are apparently the best team in england.. we did a good job of making them look ****e for the best part of 30 mins in the first half and also the beginning of the 2nd.
I still think they are nowt special and the loss yesterday will just make it even better for us when they come to OT in the league.
Should be one hell of a rematch with that extra bit of spice rolled in.

Lol, too right. Man U fans are loud, arrogant, bossy, headstrong and mouthy....
... but at least we're not Arsenal supporters

But they beat 'you' without having to break into a sweat. What position were you playing Angelus?

Were you actually watching the game??
We were all over them for the first quarter of the game.
They were being outplayed, out hustled and just plain getting beat until they scored.
Dont know if you have read Ryan Giggs comments about the match- but they are worth reading for the fact that he says that chelsea were affraid of us and Ryan has not seen them like that before.
Chelsea managed to win by a fluke 2nd goal- and also man utd didnt get a clear cut penalty which we would have scored and also makelele should have been sent off.
They didnt give us a beating- they got lucky.

Ay very true.
Apart from the penalty that should have been given to us.
And the red card not shown to Makelele..
Wonder if Roman paid the ref??
Hmmmmm...... Interesting.
