View Full Version : Laptop / desktop: Which would you rather have out of these two Jackass 04-11-2007, 02:48 Would you rather have a AMD Turion 2Ghz laptop or a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz desktop pc? Ghozer 04-11-2007, 04:05 the AMD Turion is 64bit, while the P4 isnt... however, the Turion is a mobile CPU (designed for laptops) and not really for desktops.. but saying that... from those 2, i'd go for the AMD terminator 04-11-2007, 11:23 I second the AMD out of them two. xcatauctions 04-11-2007, 12:14 Yep AMD also - so that's 3 :) bigbadkev 04-11-2007, 13:04 it depends on the rest of the specs of those systems me being a gamer id have to say the p4 unless it was a gaming laptop ASPGuru 04-11-2007, 13:29 Like bigbadkev said. Plus the desktop will have more expansion/upgrade possibilities open to it. But if you need the mobility of a laptop... Harlequin6 04-11-2007, 17:12 Are you going to play games? If Yes, get the desktop. If No, get the Laptop. Ghozer 04-11-2007, 17:14 It depends on the laptop really, my laptop plays games... even plays the latest games (Unreal tournament 3) -- what make/model laptop is it? then we can advise further. bigbadkev 04-11-2007, 17:49 ... even plays the latest games (Unreal tournament 3) does it run quake wars? Ghozer 04-11-2007, 18:07 does it run quake wars? actually, yes... Harlequin6 04-11-2007, 18:53 actually, yes... How about Crysis? ;) orbrey 04-11-2007, 19:00 How about Crysis? ;) Ah, crysis. Played the demo earlier this week. Reversed into a tree in a jeep, and the tree broke, subsequently falling on the jeep and killing me. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Er, sorry for OT. I'd say go for the laptop, all you'll get with a P4 that's worth saving for the upgrade is the case, maybe the hard drive/DVD drive (though if they're IDE even that might not be worth it these days... SATA is taking over). |
