There's teenagers hanging around quite a bit of the time, i've mostly only seen them in big groups on Blackstock Road mind you, the rest of the time it's just 3-4. Other than that, I can't really complain about it, it's fairly quiet and the people seem nice enough. Never had any problems from anyone, just seem to ignore me mostly. :) The only thing I don't like is that the council *never* seem to send anyone to tidy up around here and when stuff blows out of the bins it just sits in/around the paths forever.. grrr. Hemsworth is part of Gleadless Valley. Yes it does have a few teenagers hanging about but usually centred at the local shops (i.e. Nr John O Gaunt - Co-Op on Constable Road). If you keep yourself to yourself you shouldn't have any problems. It's not particularly a bad area by any means but it's not without it's car crime etc either. My mum lives at Gleadless Valley (so does my brother and his family) and I only moved off the estate in 2002 myself. twinky1 25-01-2005, 19:56 Originally posted by sndrsc633 Whats Gleadless Valley like? is it full of teenagers hanging round or quiet - oh and are there any factories or steel works nearby? ;o) Yes, a bit less noisy for you than Stocksbridge eh! stardust 14-04-2005, 12:42 hi i have been offered a house on gaunt road in gleadless valley , could anybody tell me what its like please as i am new to sheffield and dont know the area thanks viking 14-04-2005, 12:53 Welcome to the forum Sawdust. Have fun. max 14-04-2005, 17:18 I used to be a postman there many years ago and thought it a bit rough then but it has improved in leaps and bounds. If you like wooded areas, lots of greenery, a well stocked library, a good medical centre and above average schools then go for it. owlsman 14-04-2005, 18:51 I moved to gleadless valley in june last year, it was the last place i thought i would be living when i first started house hunting. But i must say its very quiet where i live and havent had a single problem or anything to moan about! |
