are you selling it?

I am thinking of selling. Basically I have been offered a laptop cheap (its only a 1 gig sony vaio but I only use it for coding and internet anyway). I aint got any spare cash and would rather have a laptop than the desktop (due to lack of space in my new house) so Im seeing if I could cover the cost of the laptop.

would you sell the motherboard, ram, and graphics card?

depends how much you would offer but probably not

I would use it as a backroom mp3 server/NAS to store files you can't fit on the laptop.

I would say about £100 if your lucky but you'd have to be damn lucky.

Okay so the next question is

I have been offered following

Sony Vaio Laptop
1 gig processor
60 gb HDD
Dual Layer DVD writer
512mb Ram

Basically he wants 70 quid for it. Now I am aware that is quite a drop in processor speed but everything else is as good as if not better than my desktop. To be fair I only use my comp for Internet and writing PHP anyway.

So he has said I can have this for 70 quid. Is it worth it.

Thanks

Thats what I thought. Do you think I will notice the difference in processor speed. I simply don't have room for my big cumbersome desktop anymore but I will put up with it if im gonna start getting hacked off with slow speeds.

a celeron 2.6 lacks Cache

your celeron, would be about equivelent to a 1.6-1.8ghz in actual noticeable speeds..

unless the Vaio is a Celeron too...
