No passion,no determination,no fight,no b******s.They made us look like donkey's,nothing more than a practice match for Arsenal.

As painful as this is to type, I agree with you.

Gutless describes that performance.

Something is really, really wrong.

The old United at least had determination, passion and guts and were always capable of an upset.

COME BACK WARNOCK

But it was the manner of the 'turning over' that sticks in the throat.

Embarassing.

think it's time to say ROBO hit the blinking road you waste of blinking space.

We have a better team then 2006 season and pulled a worst score, only one thing changed and thats the gay in charge.

I guarantee if Warnock had been in charge of our team they wouldn't have.

You cantt guarantee anything, and warnock has gone- different times now, lets move on shall we.

True but come on Scott, are you telling me the gutless, passionless performance of last night was a feature of the Warnock years. I don't think so.

Every game under Robson so far is like that and the players body language points to something seriously wrong.

I know he's gone and to be honest I thought he should go but what is happening is deeply worrying.

scottf
01-11-2007, 09:32
I agree but i just wish people would get over warnock leaving, someone likened it to a divorce, when it goes through somehow you only remember the good things that happened.

Yes i agree under warnock me may not have played as badly last night but with warnock we would have played as badly as last night against someone like gillingham or hull- at least with robson were picking up points if were playing badly.

its like when brown left- we STILL talk about bringing him back to the lane and remeniss about when he played, united fans just can't make a clean break and move on!!

But im agreed withyour comments thats something wrong- we took to the field like a beaten team yesterday- that needs addressing either with the players- or the manager!

It was a poor performence by our reserve team,the defending was terrible,but let's not forget this Arsenal team beat Newcastle 2-0 & they were at full strength.I never thought we would beat them ,they have 7 international players on the park last night & they were fantastic.I was not bothered about the match anyway the league is most important,let's not forget last season's cup exits,they were even worse.

tosh- hardly a reserve team? apart from kilagallon and beattie there all first teamers.

My observations:

The Blades couldn't pass wind. Whenever they managed to get possession, they simply gave it away. I reckon they didn't string 20 passes together during the match. Lack of possession, inability to pass to a team mate at any level will cost you points;

The Blades lacked stomach. Not interested, couldn't care. Yet some of these players would play out of their skins under our previous manager. Robson has removed any fight these players had and when they are bereft of any technical ability whatsoever, one wonders what the point of turning up is (fans first, team second);

The Blades were outfought and outthought by a bunch of kids who relied on technical ability and confidence. United were run ragged. Arsenal didn't have to break sweat;

Robson as per, stood statuesque on the touchline. Says it all.

No bookings sums up the 'effort' on United's part. Couldn't get near the ball, so why bother?

I'm seriously considering putting money on the Blades being relegated. I'm hard pressed to find a poorer outfit than this.

Kenny,Bardsley,Cahil,Beattie,Geary,Kilgallon,Naysm ith.that is 7 1st team regulars out,like I said this Arsenal team beat Newcastle,but the Toon army didn't whinge about being beaten,who cares we played worse in the cup last season.When we beat Burnley on saturday this match will be forgotten about & the moron who ran on the pitch want's banning,what sort of behaviour is that showing the young kids who were there last night,the Blades fans were great & even applauding the Arsenal team when they went off.I would love a couple of these youngsters in the side eduardo was class,Robbo tried to buy him when he was at WBA so even back then he could see how good this kid is.

You couldn't beat Rotherham playing like you did last night. Warnock must be wetting himself looking at Robson's clueless expression. :confused:

And who were the Owls playing last night,the squad team at Arsenal beat Newcastle, how many time's do I have to keep saying it,United were run ragged,but what great players Arsenal have coming through the ranks anyone would have at least 8 of that team last night in there 1st team.Including Laws.

Bennett 3
Bromby 10 (mainly due to geary being injured)
Carney 6
Lucky 5

All out of a possible 17.......

Why do you describe Arsenal's side as a squad team yet United's as reserves? Are you not being a little inconsistent in your attempt to dismiss a pathetic performance as inconsequential?

Arsenal's squad players on the fringe could walk into any team in the PL ,how many of United's reserves or so called squad players do that,non in my opinion.The performence was more than pathetic it was downright humiliating.

From what i've gathered its not just that united were beaten (i doubt the most clueless, rabid united fan expected a win) its that they were beaten before the first ball was kicked. Things are not good at the lane from a playing point of view. Robson has to take some responsibility for it but he seems to make excuses. Only thing is we now haven't lost in 3 league games which is ok but not making anybody lay awake with worry. Seems we are a bit of a house of cards.

Now if i know this then other people know this, managers of teams who are struggling know this, teams that would love nothing more than to take 3 points from us and they will do it. Theres no compassion in football, other teams will kick us while we're down. I honestly expect wednesday to turn us over.

Robson needs to get a grip and grow some balls and get his team playing.

Of course we need money- every club needs money- i was just pointing out the fact that the money for getting to this round and being on tele was going in uniteds coffers and not yours. :D
