my laptop worked fine last night then this morning when come to switch it on it did not appear to be on until i looked closer and noticed that it was on but very dark screen... can anyone help?
also i would like to say i have had trouble with my power supply in the past and had to have it repaired a few time and the battery on my lap top isn't very good,, don't know if any of that may have to do with it.:help:

Sounds like either the inverter has gone, causing the backlight to fail, or there's some way to turn the back light off (maybe a FN+Something)

if i turn it off and on again it sometimes lights up at first then goes back dull:confused:

Hmm, it could still be the inverter.... Does it wait till windows to go dull, or does it just flicker on at first?

My laptop screen has been dark for ages, so will try this. I can see three green lights in a row in the middle of the hinges, is this what you are talking about ?

Yes, do check that; my own has such a lid sensor, which switches the screen off when touched; I did it yesterday when I was giving the screen and keyboard a clean!:hihi:

Its gone dark again today !!:(
