I'm not familiar with dogs, but from your description it sounds rather like the ringworm (fungal), sorry if you've already treated for that. It's just a guess from what you described.

Hi ,thanks for your reply ,i thought of that when it first started ,she has been to the vets and they are a little confused as to what it is but the vet had heard of this old tyme cure for something that he thinks it is ,he did mention something about a mite that is passed on from thier mums at birth, but i think its some sort of hormonne inbalance due to it starting just after her season Quite a few of my friends with the same breed of dog are having the same symptoms &they all started after a season, we are at our wits end to find a cure ,then i heard about the above cure from a breeder of the breed who has said that she has had a good amount of success with it
I think this might answer your query- but I'd be very wary of trying any old wives recipes without consulting my vet - and yes, it does sound like ringworm

thanks Katkin ,but we have ruled out ringworm & mange,it is only appearing on bitches after a season. i know at onr time you could buy sulpher blocks to put in your dogs water which was supposed to improve thier coat condition, but not seen any about for ages,
p.s none of my other 7 dogs have the same problem ?

Can you get a photo of it? Perhaps a vetinary opinion would be better still actually :)
I have not heard of the remedy you have described but I do buy rock sulpher for my dogs for their water online.http://www.ronspets.co.uk/index.php?cPath=21_54&sort=2a&page=1
My cat had a hormone inbalance and was prescirbed Ovarid which cleared it up really well (I am unsure of the dog alternative). Have you asked the vet to do a skin scrape I am suprised they have not offered this if they are unsure of a diagnosis?
