So you've done everything properly, you've chosen a reputable breeder and its time to choose your puppy....but how do you decide?
Do you go for the one that is hyper or the one who is content to just allow the others to climb all over it?
(Also are there any top tips for helping you choose the right puppy?)

go with your heart not your head!
The one that comes to me! Although having said that, with Ailsa we didnt have a lot of choice- she was the last bitch in the litter - but something about the breeder, her lovely pups and the pup's mum kelsey made us certain Ailsa would be the dog for us. Never regretted it.
With the cats, where possible, we went for the one that came to us- Ashia the wegie kept coming to me and pushig her nose into my hand, and even though the breeder told us she wasnt a perfect example of the breed, we just knew she was trying to tell us 'pick me!'. She is such an affectionate cat, I'm glad we did.
Our 1st pup, we went to the breeders kennels, there was three 10 week old pups left out of a litter of seven Newfoundlands, They were all in the back yard and she came trotting out with a plantpot in her mouth which was covering most of her face and head, no idea how she saw where she was going but she somehow made her way to us still carrying the plantpot. We knew she was the one. She cost us £500 16 years ago but paid us back a million times with her love and affection. She was the best dog anyone could have wished for.

After she passed away we decided to go for something smaller and read up on shih tzus. Phoned a breeder but it was too far away for us to travel, she only had one left but said she would give it to her husband on Saturday who was travelling down to his shop which was only about 40 miles from us if we wanted to go and see it. We agreed and fell in love with her as soon as we saw her, she was only 6 weeks old probably a bit too young to leave her mum really and she was that small you could hold her in one hand, but we fed her up and she's grown into a lovely little thing. She is more my sons dog as she follows him around all over the place, he can't even go to the loo without her being there! waits at the door for him to come back whenever he goes out. She goes everywhere with us.

like xxhunniixx said we went with our heart.....
I picked the last born of the litter because he was the quiestest (once upon a story!) and had the 'foxy' look that I like in Samoyeds. He aslo carried a really quizical look on his little face so it looked like he thought things through before doing them.
Oh yeah, he was the one who liked cuddles most!
:):)GREAT STORY!!
Labyrinth- your newfie was a stunner!
Thank you :)
i chose the one that ran sideways!! and hes perfect hyper and mellow!
