How long before whoever has got to Bellamy puts in a bid for him, now that he has spit the dummy out at Souness, and gone on live television to call his manager a liar.

I bet Newcastle will miss his footballing skills but not his mouth, I wonder has Shearer got rid of him the same as he did with Bobby Robson.

Just seen the interview, perhaps Bellamy's telling the truth?? He said he dont want to go and would never put a transfer request - he loves newcastle........

I would have thought if he really didnt want to play under Souness then he would want to leave? He's a good player and would have thought he would be snapped up.

Never liked Souness - ****e manager and looks like a dodgy Greek Waiter if you ask me:hihi:

This isn't the first time he has had a spat with him. I wouldn't be suprised if he is gone then by Feb' I wonder who would go for him though?

Very unprofessional by all parties.

Souness is very disciplined and quite a lot of players cannot handle this. He takes no nonsense but this often doesn't work in his favour.

I can't understand why Newcastle appointed him in the first place, he wasn't doing to great in his previous job to warrant been headhunted in such a fashion. In fact other than Rangers, I can't recall anywhere where he has done a particularly good job.

As for Bellamy, his Newcastle future doesn't look bright after this incident.

Apparently Bellamy has been fined 2 weeks wages (around £80,000).

I think Souness is a complete idiot, a nasty piece of work and probably has psycopathic tendancies.

I think Souness was an absolutely barmy choice of manager - he has achieved nothing but fans always want a "big name"

However it doesn't mean its a good idea to have a go at your manager.

It does seem a little unfair to me that Bellamy gets fined loads for calling Souness a liar, but it is perfectly okay for Souness to claim that Bellamy was fegining injury - and Souness did this first.

Its not good to have your internal rows in public, and Souness and Bellamy are just as much to blame as each other - but it seems to be easier for the club to support the manager than the player, and if the PFA were any sort of well run organisation then they would kick up a bit of a fuss on Bellamy's behalf.

How on earth can such an average player command such an astronomical salary? You'll be telling me Phil Neville is on £30k a week next! Oh, hang on...

Quite, the ridiculous salaries and money sloshing around are a starting point for a lot of what is wrong with the game.

Look at the Robbie Savage thing, he decides he doesn't want to blay for Birmingham any more (for whatever reason). Now imagine if it was you or me - your company may expect you to work a bit of notice, but they are not going to accuse you of being the scum of the earth for not having a reason they deem valid. Now if it wasn't for all the money in the game then Birmingham would not have kicked up such a stink - because, of course, if they just let him go then they don't get 3 million quid.

just one example, but there are just so many.

Just read this. :D

Souness on the offensive again

Is there any need for that?

I think its very funny the way everyone said he wont find himself at a bigger club than Newcastle, and lo and behold there he is at Celtic.

I know the Premiership is a higher standard, but Celtic are at least as "big" a club as Newcastle and probably bigger.

defianetly agree with the comment that celtic are as big as, if not bigger than newcastle! think if anyone's gonna keep bellamy under control and 'bring out the best' its got to be o'neill. playing on the same team as hartson should have a calming affect on bellamy, and hopefully they'll be matched up together up front, with sutton sitting behind.
dont mind souness- think he's a good manager, and actually appreciate his ability to wind folk up!!!

Winding people up is not really a particularly good quality in a manager be it in football or anyone else.

Purposefully antagonising people who may do a good job for you just because of a personality clash is childish and unprofessional.
