I've just looked on the Kong website and the toys available look really good but I was wondering what the quatlity of the food / treats they have is like?
Are they a good quality or over priced?
never needed to buy them- Ailsa was quite happy with cheaper treats stuffed in her kong and sealed with peanut butter- no point buying kong ones for her - if it aint broke dont fix it- it costs enough to buy a kong!
doesn't the peanut butter just slop out?

nope it doesnt i fill mine wqith bits of sausage cheese spread bits of biscuit anything lottie likes carrots chopped in hers with cheese YUK!
I've finally discovered something that makes the Molly monster like her Kong enough to pay attention to it!
She can't be bothered with either of the Kong pastes that I've tried (peanut butter and liver paste) and she worked out how to empty it within seconds when I filled it with treats- but she spent most of the day playing with it today when it was filled with bits of sausage and cheese all stuck together with Dairylea!
I was beginning to think that all the outlay for a black Kong was wasted too.

thats what i do medusa mine argue over who gets the bits at the top digger can get in easier than lottie so he wins lol!
dairylea or peanut butter work just fine as a plug or glue to stick the treats together and far cheaper than the proper stuff.
diesel loves boiled ham and saugages in his kong

Do you stick this in the fridge before giving it your dog ?

when we had the odd hot random day in the summer i used to fill my dogs with juice and freeze it they spent hours tryin to get the homemade lolly out lol!

I dont use one everyday now but I keep the peanut butter in the fridge (usually buy the cheapest brand- Tescos do a value one) and depending on time, I prepare the kong the night before, wrap it in cling film or foil and keep it in the fridge, then unwrap and toss it to Ailsa as we go out next morning. If I wrap it on brown paper, I leave that on -part of the fun for Ailsa is unwrapping her present!
Oh and I stick it in the dishwasher (the electric one, not the 4-legged one) to clean it thoroughly.
