There will be at least 3 sheffielders in New England watching the superbowl in the Shamrock Inn in Suffield Conn. in front of a 50 inch plasma masterpiece, eating free pizza, pretzels and popcorn, and drinking Bass, Guinness, New Castle Brown, or Smithwicks for three bucks a pint. That's about one pound sixty folks! Meanwhile our Patriots will destroy the luckless Philadelphia Eagles like they've destroyed everyone else.

Git. Is there anywhere in Sheffield showing it. Ideally with a late bar. I can only think of the pool club on Sharrowvale Road, but there bar will shut at 11.

I don't know if any of you got to see the AFC championship by the Pats against the Steelers. As far as I'm concerned that WAS the superbowl. Earlier I had watched the Eagles win and nothing about the NFC game matched the AFC. Patriots by 7

And one Sheffielder in Wisconsin.... missing cricket terribly but watching the 'football' anyway.... Go Packers.... oh ok they went!

Wisconsin!! and I thought I was cold enough! Still if you want to be a state football fan you can do a lot worse than the Packers, with the remarkable Matt Favre and the Vince Lombardi tradition. As to cricket, not likely to find much in Cheesehead country. Here in the city of Hartford, a thriving culture of cricket lives in Reney Park, mostly West Indians, but with a good following of Brits, Aussies, New Zealanders, and Indians, as well as some good American and Canadian players.

Thats 'Brett' Favre... pleeeeaaaase :hihi:

Yes it has been a mite chilly... when it gets above freezing it feels warm now... weird!... but the summers start early, last long and are regularly high 80's F... So you got to love the contrast.

Cricket is played quite a bit in Milwaukee and area... only 1 hour south but I have not gone to watch yet... West Indian and Pakistani teams apparently. Must get there this year. I have been looking for cricket on DVD but not much luck yet... I will need a region free player of course but typically they are the cheap ones.

Beer.... Newcastle Brown is on tap at a local restaurant... and in bottles along with Boddington's in a local liquer store... so that's ok too

Actually I think 'you' got 'our' snow.

I'll be in the luxury of the Fleetwood Arms in Canada watching the Eagles get thumped. English beer is on special that day $2.75 a pint (1.18 a pint UK Pounds). I have no idea why they want to put the english beer on special when theres only US football on the telly. Lets hope the owls keep up the good progress, I'd hate to see them slip up this weekend. Mind you, its against teams like the Dons that they really need to show that they have really improved.

Sorry about the "Matt" error. I have only one thought in mind that's MATT BRADY!
