I'm reinstalling my emu 1616m sound card - I've disabled onboard sound in the bios and removed ac97 drivers.

Whats left under my device manager under sound video and game controllers, for audio, is legacy audio drivers and audio codecs. I presume that i should keep the codecs and disable the legacy audio drivers, and then install the emu card?

Is this right?

many thanks

Ash.

Keep Lagacy Audio too, thats always there (in XP) for compatability with older games / programs...

You could disable it, then see if you have any issues, and re-enable if you do, its not hard to do really :)
