Recently scanning an external hard drive AVG picked up two trojans (proper ones not 'adware') that Norton did not.
Has anyone had the reverse, Norton finding stuff that AVG did not?
Do Norton take longer to include threats in their updates? Also is AVG known for false positives?

I've heard of it happening both ways around... though i always stick with AVG, since it costs a lot less. :)

Norton is reknowned for being more about bloatware than actual performance. I did like AVG, especially in that is sits quiet using very little resources. However, I decided to give NOD32 a try and it found viruses that AVG hadn't.
norton is over rated in my opinion....
i has nod 32, running with kaspersky 7 also.......... just the ticket
Are you running both anti virus programs?
I would think that they would conflict each other, therefore you'd be best using just the one. AVG being the best option seeing as it is free.
I too now use AVG rather than Norton. However - I have no idea which is best - apart from what I have read in a couple of places.
What I did like on the Norton was the spam filter
I now need a spam filter as I am sick to death of the viagra/casino/share tips. Which one do you guys rec? - I don't mind paying - though free is always good!

AVG is the better one by FAR.
