At the moment I use Wannadoo.
I'm just changing my computer so whilst retaining Wannadoo on one machine can my son use a alternative provider on the new computer using the same B.T. Line?

Unfortunately not. If you use dialup, only one session can go on at once (in the same way as phone calls, which a dial up connection essentially is). If its broadband you can only have one service on one phone line, so the only option is to install another line and use that. Alternatively, if you do use broadband, you can share the connection though this will involve some network cables and possibly a switch, depending on how you want to do it.

This page (http://compnetworking.about.com/od/homenetworking/a/connecttwocomp.htm) shows how to connect two computers directly, and the second page in the article explains how to use an ethernet switch to do the same job (the advantage of this is that you can add extra computers if you need to).

Hope that helps,

Thank you. - I've downloaded the associated U.S.A. files for a read and when I've a printer connected, I'll print these off and do the same before I do anything. Thank you again.
