i am curious to know what grand buildings sheffield lost during the second world war, or the first!? sheffielders often speak of the fact that this fine city lost a host of quality historical buildings.

does anyone have any names of buildings or links?

cheers!

When I read the OP, that was the first thing I thought of.

Wonder why?, I supposed it's well known as killing the most people in one go.

For the OP, have a look at this site (http://www.picturesheffield.co.uk/database_search.php) There are thousands in there.

IMO, we have knocked more lovely buildings down than the Luftewaffe managed.

"No he was in Marples on Fitzwilliam Sq dodging his National Service" - hahaha, all time hero eh!!

stockers, I think that's really bad taste considering the scale of loss associated with the bombing of the Marples.
