View Full Version : Jol has left Ramos in!! Fm4eva 25-10-2007, 20:49 watching Everton on channel 5 and its just said they have just had reports Jol has agreed a severance payment and Juande Ramos will take over big suprise there:suspect: tattytilda 25-10-2007, 21:02 Think its a real shame, he has done well for Spurs and I think he could have turned it around. Watched the game on ITV4 and the fans were definately behind him. Hope he gets a good cash pay out.:( briggy1967 25-10-2007, 21:05 He resigned before the game started Pity cos he was a nice, honest bloke who told it how it is,just doesnt know the meaning of the word "Defence" firecracker 25-10-2007, 21:40 Seems he must have gazed into his crystal ball after all. Ousetunes 26-10-2007, 07:35 I wonder if he'll be going on his jollies? Another pointless we-think-we're-bigger-than-we-are sacking. Spurs are very unlikely to recapture the days of the early 1980s (and the players to enable them to do so). Like Manchester City, whatever they achieve will be in the shadow of their more illustrious, more powerful and simply richer neighbours. In these circumstances, Jol worked wonders. They are amongst the also-rans of the Premier League. A mid-table to possibly top 8 finish constitutes a good season. They should be satisfied. But in a game run on envy, greed and silly money (whether you've got it or not) his departure comes as no surprise. The problem being of course, that whoever takes over, will, in due course simply become another casualty of a (supposed) game whose appeal is wearing thinner by the day. Fm4eva 26-10-2007, 08:59 He was sacked mate along with Hughton who was just aout born there tony decker 26-10-2007, 09:57 Stupid and short sighted. I'm no fan of spurs but Jol is a good manager who has built a pretty good team, they have had a crap start to the season but I think he would have turned it around. scottf 26-10-2007, 10:49 tottenham have handled this terribly- Jol is a good manager and didn't deserve that!! Wonder if he will go back to holland or if he will move to birmingham once bruce gets sacked? Whatif wewin 26-10-2007, 11:06 I was watching Everton, Tim is back, better than any boxer when he smacks that ball into the back of the net then starts on the corner flag, I digress. I wonder why channel 5 got the news first, apparently whilst the channel Spurs were on failed to mention it. Is this true..I don't flick channels so I can't be definate? Fm4eva 26-10-2007, 11:26 Everton's passing was great for the second goal and Anichebe looks like a real prospect. Spurs expectations are too high before Jol Uefa cup qualification was a bonus for them now they expect top 4 Everton and Newcastle are bigger clubs than them Albert Tross 26-10-2007, 15:13 Another pointless we-think-we're-bigger-than-we-are sacking Spot on ! geocol 02-11-2007, 10:44 This was in the Telegraph yesterday. Brilliant. The White Hart Lane Disaster By Michael Henderson (with acknowledgments to William McGonagall) 'Twas in the autumn of two thousand and seven, And much was wrong with Tottenham's first eleven. They had started the season full of anguish and pain, And woe swept through the posh seats at White Hart Lane. In the poshest seat of all perched chairman Levy, On whose slim shoulders the burden lay most heavy. When he declared it was time for change It led to incidents decidedly strange. Though he was small, Levy's word was writ, And in his tiny frame the flame of ambition had been lit. When the team's results did not run to his law He vowed to show the coach the door. He called his minions and said 'I've got a hunch Who can stiffen the resolve of our sorry bunch. This is no time for footling or fear. We need that chap from Andalucia'. All were as one: of failure they had drunk their fill, And soon a secret mission was packed off to Seville. There, over several plates of high-class paella, They decided that Senor Ramos was indeed a most agreeable fella. Levy was told: 'he's the man, by jingo! Though it would be better still if he could speak the lingo'. So the little man determined to end the old king's reign And bring the Spanish prince to a grateful Lane. But when it was found out they had all drained some Rioja The fans thought the hush-hush trip a bit of a shocker. For the faithful admired the good man Jol, And had no wish to see him end up on the dole. This was the club of Mackay and Blanchflower Represented on and off the field by an absolute shower. Some were too young, others too old, And the goalie couldn't even catch a cold. One of the players, a gifted Bulgarian, Responded at Newcastle like an unspeakable vulgarian. 'Asking me to play is a bit of a cheek. I only get paid 40 grand a week!' Yet down the road the Gunners were firing, Playing great stuff that all were admiring. They felt it had become a bit of a farce, Enduring the taunts of the dreaded Arse. Titch Levy became increasingly batey, And eager to tell Jol, 'time's up, matey'. In the end he was fired during a game, Though the board did their best to avoid the blame. There was sadness as Jol said his goodbyes, And tears fell from a thousand eyes. The fans said the players should be put on jankers, And thought the board were a bunch of merchant bankers. So the popular Dutchman, eager to please, Was sent back to the land of extremely fine cheese. But not before he presented the club with a bill That said: 'Forthwith pay the bearer five mill'. They invited the media to grill the new boss, But Levy the king-maker gave not a toss. The unveiling was clearly too much to bear, So he disguised himself as an empty chair. The prince, meanwhile, was left in no doubt. 'If you can't turn base metal into gold, you'll be out. We're paying you six million smackers, dear mister, So it's the Champions League or hasta la vista'. Little boy Levy will stay in his seat Until it is time to beat the retreat. His prospects are looking increasingly dull. Next year all roads lead to Scunthorpe and Hull. |
