View Full Version : Which songs will get you up and dancing?
Rubysoho 23-01-2005, 11:28 Given that we've had which songs get you 'in the mood', saddest/happiest songs etc, howabout the songs that will ALWAYS get you up on your feet and boogying at the drop of a hat:P
Mine would be
Rancid - Timebomb or Roots Radicals (basically anything by 'em but these are the two usually played in a club!)
Hanoi Rocks - Up around the bend
Firehouse - Baby Don't treat me Bad
Poison - Talk Dirty To Me
Motley Crue - Girls Girls Girls

I've got bad memories of dancing to that. On my first works do it came on and everyone got me up to dance. I'd been drinking all day and could I heck remember the moves. To get out of saying I was drunk for some reason I told my boss that I was dyslexic and from then on he was very sympathetic to my so called problem. I never got round or had the guts to tell him the truth. So from then on he thought I was dyslexic and tape recorded PowerPoint presentations and stuff. Never again, i'm at a new job now- thank god!
miniminch 23-01-2005, 19:01 You can't touch this!

Agreed, one of the silliest dances ever, and whoever invented the dances to most of Black Lace's back catalogue should be shot, in the head with an air rifle.
i totally agree with boroughgal
come on eileen
Anything cheesy... In particular, S Club and Spice Girls. Although other than a wedding, songs like these never make an appearance in a club...

sacredearth 01-02-2005, 19:38 Any reggae, drumming, footloose, mud, wham, infact anything with a good beat:loopy: :headbang:
Stockhausen's Stimmung, John Cage's 4mins 33 seconds...only joking. Actually, any Motown, especially Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Supremes and Four Tops. This probably qualifies me as an "old get". What do you expect me to contort myself to at 43? Prodigy?

Timo, howsabout the best of Peter, Paul and Mary? After a few sherrys you'd appreciate the inherant vibe of their music! And ofcause, anything by Val Doonican would really get your foot tapping!
But if you want to show what the youngsters of today are missing, get out yer Boz Scaggs, Lido Shuffle. And don't forget to make some Shandy with yer Sodastream. Talk about 'avin a party. Hic.
k_enny26 03-02-2005, 12:19 She Bangs the drums - The Stone Roses
Swan_Vesta 03-02-2005, 12:45 The song which gets all our mob up is Bohemian Rhapsody and The Final Countdown for lashings and lashings of cheesy air guitar...... about as close to dancing as any of our lot can manage!
At the moment Duex - Sun rising up. Gives me goosebumps.
All timer maybe Basement Jaxx - Fly life.
Ousetunes,
You should see me dance the Black Bottom after one Snowball too many. I have also been known to do the Valeta to Radiohead, and my retro-Industrial Lindy-Hopping to Throbbing Gristle [after a bottled Shandy, not a "made" one] is a treat. Break open the Highland Fingers! Let's have a Party!
