I have been to many grounds while supporting Sheff Utd and have observed the results of widely differing mind sets of the police forces around the country.
Head and shoulders below the rest are Sunderland.
They are consistently confrontational and thugish.
At most grounds there are usually a few problems caused by difficult fans but at Sunderland the police seem to be looking for trouble like a bouncer who hasn't had a good fight for a few days.
Do others feel the same was about Sunderland police?

HA! The stadium of light wardens kept telling all us norwich fans to sit down when we were up there at the end of last season - as west brom fell further and further behind in their match, the title inched its way towards us, there was no way we were gonna sit down - we weren't being violent, everyone was standing up, quite frankly they were irritating us by coming along every 5 mintues saying 'sit down, ooo, please sit down, my supervisor wil lbe angry with me, oo please sit down!"

Something like that.

So we sat down, let them walk past and then stood up again.

in the past ive found the police in the midlands are the the worst one of my mates got kicked out of villa park for the crime of waving to me i was in the side seats at the time i know someone will disagree with this but i reckon the london police are the best for policing the grounds and very freindly 2:thumbsup:

greater manchester police r the worst also british transport police on the trains they r b******* we got it from them last season at notts station

I went to Notts Forest ground once and i got dragged of the coach by a Forest fan nobody did nothing about it i was like 13 and this lass was about 20 (she probably thought pick on the little one)it was my friend who saved me from gettin a thump.. i did nothing to aggrevate them and there wasn't a police officer in site. i have never been back since i tell ya!
