AFAIK as long as the two front wheels are in the air then it is classed as a trailer so you should be ok. If you're just using rope and a 2nd person to steer then technically its still a car for which you need MOT, tax insurance etc. Try contacting the DVLA just to be on the safe side. Lurch 22-01-2005, 19:07 It's illegal to use a piece of rope to tow a car nowadays, you need a dolly or rigid draw bar. Not sure on the tax while towing though, I do know you're not allowed to have the vehicle on a public highway, even parked, with no tax. twinky1 22-01-2005, 20:25 My Husband, who is in the car trade say's it is illegal to tow a car if it had no tax or test unless it is on trade plates. |
