I would like to know if any one can tell me if its legal to tow a vehicle that has no tax and test.:confused:

no law against it you cant run a vechile with no tax or test but you can tow it as this would be the only way

I'm sure I've seen this on another forum somewhere.

AFAIK as long as the two front wheels are in the air then it is classed as a trailer so you should be ok. If you're just using rope and a 2nd person to steer then technically its still a car for which you need MOT, tax insurance etc.

Try contacting the DVLA just to be on the safe side.

It's illegal to use a piece of rope to tow a car nowadays, you need a dolly or rigid draw bar.

Not sure on the tax while towing though, I do know you're not allowed to have the vehicle on a public highway, even parked, with no tax.

My Husband, who is in the car trade say's it is illegal to tow a car if it had no tax or test unless it is on trade plates.
