does anyone remember "Bockins" on high street and also "Brunts" the little shop higher up near to turners ice cream but was a small shop on its own that smelled of parafin and sold bonfire lollies all year round!! and sold everything you could think of?
Can you remember the chip shop at the side of Brunt's, and a row of houses where there is now a bit of waste land, and Hardy's barbers shop opposite, at the side of The Queen.
Then there was a line of old wooden huts that housed a motor bike shop and Billy Wilkes television repair shop. Further along and almost opposite Bocking's was Frank Bolsovers Fruit & Veg shop, followed by the Library which was at the side of the garden belonging to Leah's garage. That was opposite the School house where teachers from the Junior School lived, although David English and his family have lived there for many years now.

Looking through that site I came across this classic statement, it seems as if some things never change ;)
Mosbro’ folk have always been accounted a clannish people, and as regards all parochial affairs, have alway been accounted faithful to themselves, when opposed by other quarters of the parish. I hope Mosbro’ will ever retain that charachter.
I remember brunts hardware shop, Mr burnt used to stand outside wearing a scout beret talking to people as they walked past.I think he died in the late 80's.The shop has been converted to a house.

Lol & Howard Turner would turn in their graves if they saw that..
Can any of you remember Fred Burdett having the shop opposite Turners, beside the Brown Cow pub, and Claytons shop just a bit further along almost opposite where the Chinese is at the present time.

That round circular wall was the Toll bar in years gone by,where travellers had to pay prior to entering the village....shame they ever did away with it, there's a good earner in it for somebody :)
Did Bob Reynolds used to drink in the British Oak ? and on which part of Westield Crescent did he live?
