Oh the heady days of the top 10!!

News today that England have gone down another place (http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/ranking/lastranking/gender=m/fullranking.html#confederation=0&rank=173)(mainly cos they've only had one game this month).

Capello's got plenty of work on to give us a chance in 2010.

You are not surprised are you, coz I am not. The drama queen prima donnas that masquerade as a national team actually believe they are a good side. Sack the lot of them and play the under 21s who play with pride and passion something that cannot be said about the current numpties

FIFA rankings are completely arbitrary. The best thing to do is ignore them. If you want a more accurate comparison of international teams then check out the latest odds (http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/world-cup/win-market) for the World Cup. At least bookmakers have a financial interest in getting them half-accurate. (Although, to be fair, there is a slight skewing towards England.)

FIFA rankings are completely arbitrary.

Not really becuase they are based on recent performances in tournaments and friendlies.

There are probably more than ten better national teams than England at the moment so you can't argue with it really.

Croatia, Czech Republic, Brazil, Argentina, Holland, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Portugal are all undoubtedly better teams at this time.

EDIT: I compiled the above list without looking at the rankings and apart from Russia, they're all above us so I wouldn't say the rankings are far off at all.

I can't see us qualifying for the World Cup.
If we don't top the group, which Croatia will probably do ... then if we finish 2nd we go in to a play off with the runners up from one of the other groups.

The olympics showed us that basically, we're good at any sport that involves sitting down.
