Thanks:) You can't beat CCleaner IMO http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading Weeowen 23-10-2007, 21:27 Piriform CCleaner is very good as has been said.I've used it for nearly two years and it has got me out of a few problems plus kept the computer clean. I recently came across another called "Advanced windows care".It worked well for me but you do have be careful with it and back things up.Have a look and see what you think. http://tinyurl.com/yspvtv Dude111 24-10-2007, 01:10 I vote for REG SEEKER (www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm) .. The BEST cleaner i have ever found!! First time i used it,it removed over 800 keys! -- It got a home STRAIGHT AWAY :) The_DADDY 24-10-2007, 07:04 Thanks for that. Ill give em a try. ( i think) Kingmaker2 24-10-2007, 15:19 Easy Cleaner is pretty good, it's interface is easy to understand and does more than just clean your registry, and gives you more control than CCleaner in my opinion ,although I use both application as Easy Cleaner will pick up things that CCcleaner doen't pick up and vice versa. Been using both applications for about a year, and haven't encountered any problems and both application have "undo" capabilities just in case a necessary file was deleted by mistake. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download414.html Dude111 24-10-2007, 19:54 used reg seeker after finding this post.Yes its awesome isnt it? Marooned 24-10-2007, 22:25 Try Wise Registry Cleaner (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/wiseregistry.html) it gives you the option of fixing only those items that it considers "Safe To Fix". I haven't had to wipe my Laptop for just over 4 years now, apart from a couple of minor niggles it's still running quite smoothly. CCleaner is also good. sccsux 25-10-2007, 08:02 Start -> Run -> regedit.exe:thumbsup::D sharpend 25-10-2007, 10:37 Nobdody has listed this http://pcdecrapifier.com/ Not really a reg edit - more if someone you know buys a PC that is ladened down with trials and freebies From their website The PC Decrapifier will uninstall many of the common trialware and annoyances found on many of the PCs from big name OEMs. The_DADDY 26-10-2007, 09:27 Start -> Run -> regedit.exe:thumbsup::D Start, Run, regedit..BOOM!!! At least thats what happened the last time i tried that:hihi: The_DADDY 26-10-2007, 22:06 Just tried Regseeker after using Ccleaner and it come up with 553 items. Is this a lot? Kingmaker2 27-10-2007, 01:05 Just tried Regseeker after using Ccleaner and it come up with 553 items. Is this a lot? Well every reg cleaner will find something that another cleaner won't, I can't speak for Regseeker, but I have tried 2 good highly rated cleaners, Easy cleaner and CCleaner ,one after the other and they always find things that the other application doesn't. Give Easy Cleaner a try, it may even pick up things that Regcleaner fails to. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download414.html Dude111 27-10-2007, 05:02 Just tried Regseeker after using Ccleaner and it come up with 553 items. Is this a lot?First time i ran it it found about 850 entries,i was quite happy and impressed :) scottishdude 27-10-2007, 08:22 I use TweakNow. Any thoughts on this cleaner? Kingmaker2 27-10-2007, 12:51 I use TweakNow. Any thoughts on this cleaner? Tweak Now was the first reg cleaner I tried, at first I was impressed by its interface and smooth scanning, but that was before I downloaded two much more thorough programs : EasyCleaner and CCleaner. I still have TweakNow on my pc but it is laregely redundant as both the other 2 are superior programs. My favourite would be to use EasyCleaner, it's just as light and easy to use as Tweak Now but is much better. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download414.html xxsarahxx 29-10-2007, 16:52 Start -> Run -> regedit.exe:thumbsup::D People are far to scared of Registry, if you spend the time to read a book on it you will find that you only have to use specific bits and it works wonders when sorting those troublesum viruses. Dude111 29-10-2007, 18:00 Keeping your reg as clean as you can is always the best :) Reg seeker is the BEST i have found! barts96 29-10-2007, 18:25 crap cleaner spot on used it for years now Dave650 29-10-2007, 18:33 What about "doctor cleaner" or "wincleaner" I use 'eusing' reg cleaner . :) |
