my son was registered homeles for months and staying wherever he could eventually the housing offered him a flat which he straightaway accepted and was told to meet at the flat and he could move straight in
when he got there he was told not quite ready yet it would be a fortnight at the most so today he phoned as fortnight is up and was told now 1st of december
when he asked if he could bid on any others or be offered temporary accomodation in the meantime he was told no because he had signed and accepted the flat he was no longer homeless he pointed out that he still had nowhere to live and that he had to accept the flat as you now have to accept their first offer if homeless and they said nothing they could now do until kier hand over keys
what a wonderfull way of reducing the housing list
just give peole properties that they cant actually live in yet but hey who cares aslong as the maths ad up

What do you mean by homeless?

Do you mean he wants to move out but hasn't purchased his first house yet or is he sleeping rough on the streets?

I'm confused too, you obviously care enough about him to post so why is he homeless in the 1st place?

unfortunately he lived with my ex and due to the fact we have no room and i am disabled and he enjoys the lifestyle of any youth while i spend a great deal of time resting he is staying between friends and brothers and sister etc the housing counted him as homeless as he had no permanent address and no suitable accomodation

olec:- there is such a thing as the "Hidden Homeless", those who are, perhaps, not actually sleeping rough, but they are without a permanent place, spending a couple of nights on this friends' floor, or another, having to move on every couple of days or whatever.

exactly i was pointing out the fact that by signing someone up to a property they can then remove them from figures and lists even though the are still in the same position
im quite sure my son isnt the only 1 in this position

if i was you, i would be checking with the housing that they arent charging him rent, as with him signing for it, they could be, even though he isnt able to move in

Knowing the housing this is exactly what they will be doing!

Roger i really hope your son gets into his new home soon and quickly settles in.

roger, have you checked if he is having to pay rent on the property or not
