What exactly is it?

It's a sitcom that's been going for nearly 35 years now on BBC1. I enjoy the program, charming characters and they are never at a loss for new material.

I think its a reward for sitting through Songs of Praise.

1/Old men get an idea, get one of the old men to dress in A/deep sea divers costume, /B/giant chicken suit, C/World war one leather flying helmet and goggles.
2/ Old men invent or build machine and place old man in costume into it.

3/ Old man in costume and machine career down hill, hit dry stone wall, old man flies out of it to land in A/ River, B/ Pile of cow manure, C/ Norah Battys lap.

4/ Old men who watch the accident cringe, mention Norah Battys stockings, one slaps another with his flat cap, the show goes off.

Youve seen one, youve seen em all.

I'm not going to repeat myself, but it's arguably one of the best sitcoms still going.
