View Full Version : Who would come to a Manga/Anime party?
Agent Dan 21-01-2005, 12:40 I'm thinking of organising a japanese animation night/party soon for fans of the work. Just wondering whether there'd be anyone interested on the forum!
Party would include food, drink, DVDs, manga theme etc. Just trying to arrange a meeting for some like-minded people!
Numbers to start with, dates and details to follow!
What a cool idea! You could make use of the recent popularity of Studio Ghibli with Spirited Away.
Agent Dan 21-01-2005, 15:25 Indeed! I know quite a few 'amateur' fans and was thinking of expanding our usual gathering!
I already own at least 10 films... and parties are always good!
Well I could handle the paty bit and enjoy a good film!
Watching a few bits recently, quite impressed... Interested in seeing more. Spirited away is a fantastic film (for those who are yet to see it).
I have Oh, My Goddess on DVD... it's actually really good... and I like parties :)
You definitely weren’t joking, were you?
'These Manga Gatherings' -Are part of your everyday life then?
(Lol)
Sounds much more interesting than 'Partying' for another evening...
'At the Proms -With Daniel o' Donnell!' (on double audio cassette)
Seriously, sounds good.
Any idea of: When & where?

8 to 3 in favour at the moment, looks like this might be going somewhere.
BrainThrust 22-01-2005, 22:32 I'd be interested, as long as there were at least some like minded Trigun fans there.
Wilf
i used to collect them like mad, but i haven't got any since ooooh 1995-7
so i have no idea what is around,
:(
Agent Dan 24-01-2005, 08:25 Excellent! Mwahahahahahahaaaaaaa! Soon you will all be in my power...
I will PM you all!
Anyone have a copy of "My Neighbour Toturro"?
Haven't seen that since the mid 90's.
Agent Dan 24-01-2005, 14:25 Looking like the last weekend on february... watch this space!
Agent Dan 26-01-2005, 13:19 If anyone has any films they would particularly like to watch, then please list them here!
So far I'm going to suggest the following:
Ninja Scroll (film, watercolour, serious)
Dragon Half (2 episodes, SD comedy)
... As I think they are classics that everyone should watch!
BrainThrust 26-01-2005, 17:34 I'll second Ninja Scroll, its a classic.
I'd also like to suggest another classic, Ghost in the Shell (cos i've got it) and I think its a true work of art.

Agent Dan 27-01-2005, 15:30 Seconded!
Date for this night is now looking like the first or second week of march... any preferences?
