Mind you after yesterday...can't complain!!! CHAIRBOY 21-10-2007, 14:03 I'm afraid that he is consigned to history. I don't think it would make much difference if he came now ...... silk purses etc. The debt and money to spend would have to be resolved but the likes of Roland Nilsson were very happy memories. I have argued hard and long that in 1993 and the Wembley trips, that that was Atkinson's team, not Francis's, and that Wednesday's problems started when TF started to dismantle Atkinson's side. Wherever he went, Francis never won a thing as a manager. All the blame can't be placed at Francis's door because after he was sacked, they did finish seventh under Pleat before the disastrous drop. So many players came and failed, only to be successful elsewhere. Atkinson was responsible for some poor buys, second time round eg Sedloski. Totally agree with you about everything and to be honest that is probably the view of 99% of wednesdayites, and the worst thing is that when wednesday were neck and neck in the early 90's with Arsenal the gap now just 14 years on is astounding! No light at the end of a very dark tunnel! |
