He's going to be a voice very much missed especially on the News Quiz. He could always make me giggle.

I remember being a young kid and my dad crying with laughter at things he said.

I'll miss him on my radio.

On the plus side, we can look forward to lots of special programmes celebrating his life.

For some reason, I've always got Alan Coren and Ned Sherrin mixed up in my head. And now they've died within days of each other. Blimey. There's precious little quality wit about in the media, I'm gutted that we've lost those two.

Having also enjoyed his children Giles and Victoria's work in print and onscreen, I will also add my sincerest condolences to them. How lucky they were to have such a stimulating, funny father. :(
