after listening to the news yesterday about that brightside is one of the worse area in britain for education and the fact that only 8% go to university i am appauled in this finding. with david blunkett being our mp. did he used to be education minister at one point as well. something needs to be done, i understand theres people that could not be bothered, the council are a prime example, i refer to the state of the houses in the shiregreen area and the fact that the local area office is not bothered about modinisation. you tell me why the people of brightside have to pay council tax, because i cant see why i should.

where does my £119 a month go then in council tax?im not in brightsiode but wisewood..im also a bit miffed that i have to pay for my sons PE session on thursdays...its only 50p but that adds up over the year i thought PE wasnt an extra curricular activity

only £33?hows that then? im assuming you must get a discount there but even with that, its a lot lower than mine! is that over the twelve months because mine is calculated over 8 months

Simjns, are you saying that its only education that has had a slide in service or you suggesting other services have declined over the years ?

I share with 2 others SW, £99 divided by 3. I think its either 10 or 11 months out of 12.

housing, if you look at sheffield at a whole take the council stock of houses its clear to see that areas like shiregreen are being left out for some strange reason on modinisation. and the fact that they accept rent but wont cough up for repairs.
another thing bugs me with sheffield is the poor condition of roads and the policy on trying to slw you down with calming areas. we should be modernising the roads not slowing us down. while im at it all these pot holes and silent poilce men will the council pay for repairs to my car? no will they hell
