Good work fella, **** the haters!

You live anywhere and your gonna have your gripes but all in all, Sheffield is an ace place to be living :) friendly folk, large green spaces and promximity to the peaks and the laid back nature for a city of its size.

Yeah we can all moan about the nightlife, the shops, the football teams etc but you need to get it in some perspective.....
For example, I love Manchester and buzz of the place but I was speaking to a friend who manages a pub on Wilmslow Road and she's had three people shot outside in as many months, and thats a student area!! She has to worry about that **** all the time. Ok so it does happen over here I'm not denying it, Jonathan Matondo RIP, but to nowhere near the same extent and long may it stay that way.

Much as I'm loathe to join any gang started by Welchie, I have a whole heap of like with Sheffield's name on it.

yeah to be quite honest, I'd be sceptical of anything Welchie does, but it is nice having all the bars and stuff reasonably close together. how is my ex-flat mate Dom anyway Mr Welch?

Yes I love my home town as well obviously there are things that can be improved but all in all I am very proud to be Sheffield born and bred.

Great to see some people are patriotic but realistically speaking Sheffield under achieves greatly. Be it club scene, football, city development. Lived here all my life and I feel more sorry for the youngsters because there are not many amenities for them like when I was young.

I grew up in Southampton and only moved to Sheffield 3 1/2 years ago. I love the place and have no plans to leave. The nightlife may not be as commercially as good as places like Leeds / Manchester, but there is a special atmosphere about our city - a spirituality if you like - that I don't believe these other places have.

I speak to so many people in the same situation as me -people who grew up elsewhere but have settled so much here that they have stayed - they can't all be wrong.

I've lived here 2 years now, and love it! I'm from a much smaller city, so to me Sheffield is buzzing!

There's lots of bariety of nightlife, and still so many places I havent been to.

Sheffield may not be as happening or buzzing as other Northern cities like Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle - but it's safer, greener and very comforting.

All the moaners should input the co-ordinates for Manchester into their sat navs and piddle off.
