Does anyone remember this ladies cocktail from the 1950s? It was advertised in almost any pub bar you went into. If anyone has any info or pictures in connection with this I'd be pleased to hear from you - Barkworth

Green Goddess recipe

1 1/2 oz melon liqueur
1 oz Scotch whisky
1 tsp dry vermouth
4 oz lemon-lime soda

Pour the melon liqueur, Scotch, dry vermouth and lemon-lime soda into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well, and serve.

The drink I'm relating to was in a Green Bottle labelled Green Goddess, on the bottom of the label the makers were in Rotherham.

i haven't seen it for years, it must have been a ready mixed cocktail.

Yeah, I remember that PopT, it came in a oddly shaped green bottle. Adverts used to show this wierd looking chick and the bottle, everything in green, naturally. It was sold in the 30's. It was one of my first attempts at the Kings? English. Geen Godis?
