CarolW   10 #1 Posted October 18, 2007 Hello, here are links to photos from my recent sojourn in Eastern USA....  Comments are welcome!!! Any mean ones will be summarily dismissed!!!! :hihi:  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/Atlanta?authkey=T_bf8DqTvoA  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/CharlestonAndFortSumter?authkey=q8yY59e-rwo  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/GeorgetownSculptureGardensAndMyrtleBeach?authkey=ua2FLl6C5XE  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/NorfolkJamestownWilliamsburgAndBerkelyPlantation?authkey=EF-FFWCVzUo  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/MonticelloShenandoahPark?authkey=BBZXpk7fUnY  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/WashingtonDCAmericanIndianMuseumArlingtonCemeteryByNight?authkey=DvN6VV1dcm8  http://picasaweb.google.com/ChoccyPics/NewYork?authkey=pLfNzLO50f0  I didn't have a tripod, so I was quite pleased with how the night shots looked - not sure how they'll print out though!!!!  It was a bit of a whistle-stop coach tour, I wish I'd had more time everywhere to take it all in!!! Still, it's an excuse to go back......!!!!  Enjoy!!!!
 Share this content via...
PeteM01   10 #2 Posted October 18, 2007 Hi Carol  There are some nice shots there: they tell the story of your trip very clearly. A coach tour itinerary is not going to allow much time to find the ideal locations and the best lighting conditions (e.g. early morning and evening) so a fine job in the circumstances.  I like the Atlanta gallery best, as it reminded me of a visit I made there last year in March when it was bitterly cold in the mornings!  Pete
 Share this content via...
CarolW Â Â 10 #3 Posted October 18, 2007 Thanks, Pete, we only had the morning in Atlanta, so it was just the "major" sites of interest... I'd like to have spent more time there.. Â Last year, I was in the Western USA, I hired a car and travelled round the canyons for 3 weeks, it was superb!!!! This is the first time I've been on the East Coast, so I did the coach tour just to see what was there!!! Now I wish I'd had so much more time there...... There's always next year.... PeteM01 Â Â 10 #4 Posted October 19, 2007 There's not a huge amount to see in Atlanta, so a morning was probably sufficient....the results of my few days in Atlanta are here. Â I also had a few days to go to the Grand Canyon last year, driving up from Phoenix to the South Rim. Driving yourself is the only way to do it! Â Unfortunately, trying to capture the Canyon on a camera is a tough job. How did you get on? Can you post a link? Â Thanks, Pete
 Share this content via...
CarolW Â Â 10 #5 Posted October 19, 2007 Funny you should say that.... I also flew into Phoenix and travelled up from there!!!! In October though.... I'll dig the photos out and put them on... I went to Grand Canyon, Bryce, Lake Powell, Arches, Canyonlands, Mesa Verde, Santa Fe, White Sands and Tucson - 3 weeks in all, a lot of driving but it's so easy to drive over there!!! PeteM01 Â Â 10 #6 Posted October 19, 2007 Did you stop near Sedona on the way north? The scenery there is spectacular! We stopped one night there, then passed through Flagstaff on Route 66 and spent the second night at the North Rim, then drove through Navajo and Apache country (via Monument Valley) to Tucson on day 3. That was quite a long drive.......and 47C in Tucson in July! Happy memories. Â Pete
 Share this content via...
CarolW Â Â 10 #7 Posted October 20, 2007 I was planning to go to Sedona - but I changed my mind and went on the railway instead.... After that, there wasn't enough time to go!!!! I'll save it for another time, I've heard it's beautiful there...
 Share this content via...
