Debroah Kerr, who starred in Black Narcissus, has died according to the BBC. I love this film.

She was also in "The Innocents" which personally I think is the scariest film ever made.

Deborah Kerr, the British ballet dancer turned Hollywood star, has died at the age of 86.

Nominated six times for an Oscar, Kerr never won the best actress award despite starring in several memorable roles, opposite the likes of Robert Mitchum and Cary Grant.

In From Here to Eternity, she played Karen Holmes, the sexy adulterous wife living on an Army base in Hawaii. Her scene with Burt Lancaster on the beach with the waves washing over their bodies was considered on the verge of scandalous in its time.

Now she can make passionate love in the surf from here to eternity. :love::love::love:

I first saw that film on television when I was a little girl and was completely fascinated by the dresses....I always said I would get married in a dress like the one she dances in.....happy childhood memories. :D

Indeed, although I think part of the shock was that it was Deborah Kerr doing it, as she had such a prim image up to then.

I blame all the excitement on this forum today that probably contributed to her demise.

"Heaven knows, Mr Allison" was one of my favourites, along with 'The King and I'.

I've only seen it once but 'The Night of the Iguana' was a goodie as well.

Very underrated actress, I used to tell my mother she looked like her when she wore her hair in a bun (teehee)

Sadly we only saw her (and her tax free status) return from Switzerland when her health started to fail in owd age.
