heard a Sheffield band had formed from 'the ashes' of a few locals bands I use to like. Anyone know if this is true?
They're called 'And Yet They Fly' or 'And Still They Fly' or summat.

Anyone know anything about them?

a friend of mine's in their band I think. Set to be the next, next, next big thing, apparently. Aren't they all?!! They're not like the Arctic Monkeys, or the other indie bands (who all sound the same IMHO). My mate say's it's more rocky

The first song is awsome... need to listen to the rest - there's 4 in total.
Remember ther bassist, Julian, from 'The Venetian Effect', and also I remember Pete (guitarist) from 'Skydiva'. Seen them both on the solo circuit a few times, too.

This band (And Yet They Fly) sound very different / more mature than the current soundalikes in the charts. If this were America, these guys would be snapped up and sell a zillion CD's.

Had a word with them last night... they're looking for a manager... might step up (ha ha ha...) how hard can it be booking gigs? Answer... sounds like a nighmare

Been listening to tracks 1 and 2 - both on me iPod now. Who'd have thought some Sheffielder's could come up wi tunes like that?

If you're gonna be the manager you can get us Forum'ers free tickets when they're playing Wembley (or where ever it is big bands play now?!) Seems like 'concerts' are now uncool, but 'gigs' are trendy. Not since Def Lepard have Sheffield had a good original band to be proud of (and NO, Pulp don't count).

I'm doing their first photoshoot tonight. Photogenic lot... Will be involved with the video somewhere along the line, too, I should think.

They're not signed. They've all got regular jobs. Everything is self funded as far as I know. Think they do the recording at the guitarists house - he use to run a studio called Tigerfly Studio's.

They've got a gig this Monday night at The Riverside, so they're waiting until after then to upload a batch of new pics to their website / Myspace. I'm defo going to the gig. See you there?

Just heard "Cherrygirl" - Very Placebo-ish (for me that's a good thing), if the rest is in a silmiliar style then expect my daughter to be in attendance to their forthcoming gigs.

And Still They Fly play live tonight at The Riverside in town. Should be a good one. Can't wait.

Well, it's official... this band are gooood! Saw them last night.. had a chat afterwards, too. Sound lads. A great Live band - sounds loads better even than the demo's (and they're pretty tops IMHO).

yeah saw these boys last night-very impressed-certainly a bit of placebo in there and some funeral for a friend too i reckon. nice to see a sheffield band rocking out and not falling into the scene.anyone know of any upcoming gigs?

They next play on Bonfire night at West Street Live. According to the local press, looks like they're headlining - and so soon!!!!!!

Went down to the West Street Live gig on bonfire night. The band were electric and the venue was ace - good lights and stuff.
A bunch of new pics have been put up on their Myspace page.

P.S. Circles ain't as good as the first track, IMHO
