Take That with Robbie - also never likely to happen unless his new album flops

OMG I saw one of those bands actually engaged in reformation discussions last night in the Dog & Partridge snug. I overheard that: The drummer is joining a monastry, the singer is destitute and has sold everything except his tank suit, the bassplayer's already short fingers are now down to stumps which could shear off at any moment, and the guitarist is a pretentious sod who only plays some sort of improv ********.

So it doesn't sound like there's much hope of a reformation.

Now hows about The Lemon Happening Boys or A Beautiful Mutilation reforming?

I'm sure I can't be the only person who's mentioned this, but your peculiar habit of emboldening certain words in nearly all of your posts is extremely distracting, and as far as I can see, serves no useful purpose.

Seriously?? I had the misfortune to see them at the illfated Reading 88 festival - there was hardly anyone watching them - everyone else had buggered off back to the campsite...

I'd like to see Crazyhead reform - though by all accounts that might be on for next year...

I know Noddy Holder probably doesn't need the money but a Slade re-union would rock, even if it was only for one album. I'd consider going to a Slade concert if they did reform, if the tickets weren't too pricey.

Do bands ever re-form for anything other than money? They split or pack in because they've gone as far as they can together for whatever reason.

Let's keep our memories of when the bands were exciting, vital, creative etc. They belongto a certain era. Leave the rest to the tribute bands.

Well if the moment has passed for libertines I think the century has passed for the floyd!

I like Pink Floyd but I don't think I get them the same way as everyone else - my favourite albums are The Wall, Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Final Cut and I never understood what was so great about Syd Barrett.

You're right about pink floyd, but again I only want them to reform because I never got see them in their heyday (not being born and all...). What I mean is, I'd like both bands to get back together just so I can see them, not permanently :)

There's actually loads of bands I'd want to reform just for me to see them, but those are the main two.

He wrote the songs, most songwriters keep all the royalties on their writing. I am pretty sure John and Paul didn't give part of their songwriting royalties to George and Ringo.

I quite agree with you but when 5 mates from school get a band together and agree everything a 6 way split (including manager Steve Dagger) form a company called Marbelow just to make sure everyone gets their share then sneakily cancels it all behind everyone elses back when times get a bit hard seems just a little bit out of order, but that's rock n roll! Lol

Led Zeppelin have reformed for a one off gig in Novemebr at the 02 Arena in London (as you'd imagine - tickets are exchanging hands for the foolish money) and Black Sabbath have reformed quite a few times over the years - mainly to play at Ozzfest...

I have just been listening to the Band of Gypsys, the second LP that I ever bought, the vinyl with the Puppets on the cover.

That lad Hendrix was not just the best Guitar Player that I have ever heard, he was also the best musician that I have ever heard, and, along with Mozart, possibly the best composer that I have encountered.

Well I got one of my wishes earlier this year when N'Dea Davenport went back to The Brand New Heavies and having been to see them in Nottingham for a homecoming gig the other week i have to say wow - still brilliant!

My other wish is for Blur - and it was on the radio the other day that this is going to happen next year - and perhaps Glastonbury is on the cards! (But not for me - I can never do Glastonbury )

My final wish would be for The Stone Roses but I dunno, I think Ian is passed it now, Primal Scream are where they want to be, I don't think it would really work.

So maybe I'll just wish for Blur.
