It means the charities will get only a THIRD of the £320,000 raised once her payment, expenses and commission to an agency have been deducted. The PM's wife is off to Australia and New Zealand next month to star in the charity events and promote her book on Prime Ministers' wives. Furious Lib Dem shadow minister Norman Baker said: "This leaves a very sour taste in the mouth. It's pretty scandalous to want to raise money for charity but cream off such a large amount yourself." Guests will pay £78 each to hear Mrs Blair speak on legal issues and "balancing family and career" at functions in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in aid of the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia. A dinner in Sydney will cost £118. But her first stop on the six day trip will be in Auckland, New Zealand, for a £92-a-head dinner in aid of the Starship national children's hospital. Guests can have a VIP table for 10 with pre-dinner drinks with Mrs Blair for £3,000 - £300 a head. The tour is arranged by impresario Max Markson - known in Australia as Mr 20 Per Cent - who runs the Markson Sparks agency. His spokeswoman confirmed Mrs Blair will be paid a fee, although she refused to disclose the sum, and the charity would only get a third of the money raised in ticket sales. In Britain, Mrs Blair uses her maiden name Booth. But she is billed as Blair on tour to capitalise on her husband's fame. Downing Street refused to comment, saying: "She is a private citizen." Mrs Blair sparked controversy by making £120,000 on a US lecture tour last year.
