England are out of Euro 2008 as i cant see Russia losing to Israel or Andorra and i wouldnt be suprised if Croatia give us a hiding at Wembley.

Mourinho for England!!!!!

Well I love a bit of pressure. I won't be watching next year if they are not in it though.

Bad night for both of us.:( We have to beat Italy in last game.

So have Russia got to get no wins out of either game? I'm lost now in the table, and refuse to use Skysports.com as since they changed their site, it's basically vank.:hihi:

If Russia beat Israel (likely) and Andorra (a walkover) they are through, regardless of whether England beat Croatia in thier last game.

If Russia beat Israel (likely) and Andorra (a walkover) they are through, regardless of whether England beat Croatia in thier last game.

Conversely, if Russia take four points from these two games, we need to beat Croatia; if they take only three points, we need a draw; if by some freakish occurrence they take no more than one point, we're through.

So we need a favour from Israel, and the bigger the favour the better for us. (Or from Andorra, but with a record of played 10, lost 10, goal difference minus 37, that's not very likely.)

Israel are a solid home team, and Russia, as shown at Wembley, are not that strong away.

The only problem is, Israel have little to play for....

Lets be positive though.

Israel held Russia in Moscow.
They might be more "relaxed" and therefore inventive, as they dont need to win the game.
The pressure might get to Russia.

:suspect:

Mourinho for England!!!!!

Sadly he would only be able to pick English players.

but he can motivate players unlike McClaren and if Russia win both games and Croatia lose in Macedonia and Us dont England and Russia go through

Croatia need just one point from their remaining two games to qualify. Russia will qualify if they win their remaining two games, while England, who play Croatia at Wembley in their last game, need Russia to slip up.

For all you Sky.com readers. ;)
Mourinho for England!!!!!

I think we can quote Mourinho when he said on his exit from Chelsea he wouldn't come back to England, is it time to start the media frenzy for Scolari like when Sven went?

yesterdays Daily star Mourinho said he would love to manage England hopefully the FA will get rid of McClaren and hopefully Barwick too as it is those 2 who have brought on this disgrace to English football we are supposed to be a football superpower but cant even hold a lead against Russia just imagine if we had got Scotland's group we would have been out long ago

Also from yesterday ... i'm not betting on this and the tabloid rumours.

Source Goal.com

The former Blues man had been quoted as saying that the Portugal national team post was one that would interest him in the future, and having already managed in his homeland with, he felt that an Italian or Spanish club would be where the challenge resided.

But the rumour mill doesn’t listen to logic, and with England’s hopes of reaching the Euro 2008 finals hanging by a few fibres, and Steve McClaren’s job far from secure, Jose Mourinho is reportedly waiting on the FA’s phone call!

The Sun, the beacon of knowledge amidst a melee of tabloid tripe, quoted a ‘close pal’ of Mourinho as saying: "He knows English football as well as anyone and sees it as a great challenge to coach the national side.
