Been tonight and I found it quite enjoyable. If you can block off the original then your in for a good film - I also liked some of the 'tweaks' made to the storyline...but Rob Zombie has stayed respectful to Carpenter.
Also nice to say hello in person Beaks :D

It's always difficult when asked what I think of a film whilst stood at box office - I'm aware that any customers nearby may be swayed by my opinion and decide not to see something after all. Thus I tried to be diplomatic about my disappointment with the film when you asked.
For a more honest review of it check out my warblings at http://filmfile.movingpictures.me.uk/index.php?name=Reviews&req=showcontent&id=512
Also, it was nice to put another face to a name too.

I can see justification in your review Beaks but I wouldn't consider it a failure, yes, the friends of Laurie are annoying and was quite relieved for the sake of the story when they was killed off. Also, I nudged my girlfriend at the part where in 1985 the girl uses a fairly modern, post late 90's mobile phone to call laurie. You couldn't even say it was a home phone in a derilect house!

Saw it a couple of weeks ago. Had a Michael Myers phobia for years (dont laugh!!) so my bf and mate thought it would do me well to face my demons.....it didnt work - i was terrified :help: Thought the mask was even scarier than the original to be honest. Spent most of the film in my boyfriends armpit lol!! i know, i'm such a girl!!!!
I saw this the other week, and thought it was good apart from all the swearing, too much in my opinion, but it wasnt as good as the original i dont think

Did he keep Carpenter's music? That's the best bit.

I love the fact that the film's tagline - "Evil has a destination" is being advertised on trams with the destination of Meadowhall.
I loved it, better than the original in fact!
