Hello Everyone,

I am totally having an issue with my incredimail. I recently had to reformat my drives and re-install everything. Once I get to the incredimail it is giving me an error "Error Starting Program"," The IMUTILS.DLL file is linked to missing export MFC42.DLL:6648
Then
c:\windows\temp\incred~1\iminst~1\binaries\imsetup .exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning.

Now I have had this error in the past and all I had to do is download the missing dll files, reboot, and done.

But this time it isn't working that way. I have done this a couple of times, uninstall and reinstall the program 3 times. I did all the windows update, went into the regedit and removed all the files that had to do with IM.

Any help would be great.

I believe MFC42.DLL is part of the VB runtime environment.

You could try downloading the VB runtimes and installing them again.

Get them from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ba9d7924-4122-44af-8ab4-7c039d9bf629&DisplayLang=en

If you've been downloading the individual .DLLs, you're running the risk of a mismatch somewhere.

Reinstalling Incredimail again after you've done this may help.

...Just wanted to add.
If you're going to attempt any of this, make sure you create a system restore chkpoint before you do (assuming you're using XP). You'll then be able to undo the change if something goes wrong.

My hubby told me, that he was sure it isn't a runtime error.
Also, I forgot to mention that my O/S is win98...I know, I know
time to upgrade...lol
Anymore suggestion would be awesome
Willing to try almost anything to get this working.
